    Does such a box of wonders exist?

    I've now got two monitors, one for PC and the other for Xbox/TV. The Xbox/TV LCD is fine for DVDs but I'd like to swap the two over when playing HD content or games as the PC LCD is nicer.

    That was confusing so here's a spiffing diagram:

    Basically I'd like a switcher in the middle that toggles either:

    Code:
    1 -> 2
    3 -> 4

    OR

    1 -> 4
    3 -> 2
    Does such a switch exist, or would I need to use more than one normal KVM switch?

    Assuming it's all HDMI/DVI, you could use Maplin > 2 Port DVI Switch/Audio Box followed by Homestead - DVI Splitter Cables.

    This would give you the option to switch between the PC and Xbox, seeing the selected source on both monitors together. To be able to freely swap sources between monitors would, I suspect, be somewhat more tricky and expensive.

    It's quite a specific task. You could do it with 2 KVMs and two splitter cables as you say, but that's less than ideal I suppose...

    you could maybe diy it. Just get some spdt switches and spend aaaaagggges wiring all the connections up.

    Worked out how to do it with 2x VGA switchers and 2x splitters, but would this knacker the picture quality?

    Re: Does such a box of wonders exist?

    Good stuff. From the picture it appears that it's possible to route both inputs to the same output at once. Could give interesting results...

    I think at £40 I'll just lean over and swap the cables over myself
