RAM timings? they're quite important tbh... the lower the latency the higher you'll get... all my runs are either 2-2-2-11 or 2-2-2-6

    Hi all,

Just wanted to keep you all updated on the slowest machine in the world comparison.
I upgraded my Geforce2 GTS 64MB last night to a nice new Sapphire 9800 Pro 128 MB just to test to see if it was working before I put it in my new build (I just couldn't STAND to look at it, i had to plug it in)

The PC spec is a P3 866 running 133 BUS with 256 MB PC133 SDRAM Here's what it came up with

    3Dmark 2001 SE
    Geforce2 GTS 64MB (running 4X AGP) = 2344
    9800 Pro 128MB (running 4X AGP) = 6956

This shows off the card nicely, all I hope is that when i put it with the Asus P4C800, P4 3Ghz and 1GB Corsair PC3200 it goes up !!! LOL

Hope that's given somone a small laugh )

    Cheers

    aye that did

bigZ i shouldn't really make the RAM timings tighter as it should be getting more than this with standard timings. I'm using TwinMOS PC3200 runs fine, should be fine. I reckon it's some sort of glitch in 3dmark tbph

the people that say that probably overclocked their cards and are benchmarking at small resolutions and with all of the needless things disabled e.g. audio and any other needless things running in the background.

i get around 12,000 to 13,000 in the stndard benchmarking settings and about 15,000 in the performance settings and overclocked gfx and small resolutions.

p.s. if your 9800pro is powercolor or connect3d they might not overclock well, or perhaps you have a 300w psu try a 450w one...

    On my setup :

    AMD Barton 2500+ (333 FSB)
    512 PC2700 Crucial Ram (333 MHz)
Connect3D Radeon 9600 Pro 128 Mb (Running at 4x AGP as my board is 8x but the new drivers crash it out at 8x, the Catalyst 3.4 runs at 8x no probs !)
    Soltek Purple Ray Mainboard (SL-75FRV)

On 3DMark2K1 SE patched to the latest build running the standard bench I get 10,650 approx. Slightly differs each time I run it.

So looking at you're scores I would say its about right. I had a standard 9700 for a little while on loan and that scored 12000 aprox on a 1700+ with 512 ram

I saved for months and months to get all my kit. Now it would take me half the time to get the same kit. Damn price drops
