Query about my Samsung TFT
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW, the 22" version from the 'Pebble' range that they do. I've had it for about 5 months now and only just realised about this slight issue there is with it.
When the monitor is at full brightness there are no problems what so ever, but once I turn the brightness down it makes a sort of high pitch noise like there's a constant ringing in your ears. Plus the more the brightness is turned down the louder this noise gets. It doesn't bother me that much as I'll just tend to run it at full brightness plus I have headphones on most of the time so this is more of a 'would be nice to know' sort of question.
So, does anyone know if this is an issue across all Samsung TFTs or any TFTs in general?
Thanks.
Re: Query about my Samsung TFT
I've heard about this on some LCDs and Plasmas in the past. It doesn't happen on every make/model though.
I've read of people who have RMA'd due to the noise being so bad.
Re: Query about my Samsung TFT
It is an issue with your model.
The solution, no... the workaround, is to adjust brightness using your graphics card. Not ideal but it's the only option available to my knowledge.
laze.
Re: Query about my Samsung TFT
I've got a 2232 but I haven't noticed any high-pitch sounds. Just turned it all the way down and no sounds, so it sounds like it's your panel...
Re: Query about my Samsung TFT
There's at least one other individual experiencing the same problem, I've definitely read his story -somewhere- during my research for a new screen.
laze.
Re: Query about my Samsung TFT
I have that problem with an older Samsung monitor, the 205BW, and a Fujitus-Siemens monitor, so it seems fairly prevalent to me.
