    8800 Gts

I've hooked my 8800 GTS up to my LG 22LS4D tv.

The native resolution is 1680*1050, so at first I had to hook it up to another monitor and change the aspect ratio to 4:3...then use the my tv and change the resolution to 1680*1050.

I had to reboot, and when it booted up again, the settings hadn't saved and I couldn't display it on my tv. I had to go through the monitor process again.

I made sure I saved all the settings, and when I switched it off and back on again, the settings still hadn't saved!

How can I make it boot into 1680*1050? It's driving me insane =[.

    Re: 8800 Gts

That's strange, it should (in fine fashion) just work..

How are you connected from the graphics card to the tv. HDMI, dvi or VGA?

    VGA.

The cable isn't damaged or anything either, I can hook up my computer to another monitor and it works fine.

    Re: 8800 Gts

And you're using plain old windows display properties to set the resolution?

    Re: 8800 Gts

I was using the nVidia settings.

Oh, I'll hook it up to another monitor and use the windows display properties to set the resoltion .

    Cheers

windows display won't let me set it to 1680*1050...only 1250*1050 (or something like that). So I need to use the nVidia settings to get 1680*1050...will it save then, do you know?

SOunds like the monitor driver's iffy TBH. I think you can change some .inf files somewhere to fix that.

Ah, I had to set the nVidia settings to 1680*1050 ... then that allowed me to set the windows display option to 1680*1050...cheers .

    Re: 8800 Gts

After countless hours, I managed to get the push pins to work (somehow I managed to cut my hand doing it :S). Thanks anyway though.

Just need to RMA the RAM now...pffft.
