I am after a cheap dual DVI PCI-E x16 GPU.
Must be dual DVI but doesnt need to be a screamer, just good enough to run a 22" Widescreen and a 19" 4:3 smoothly.
Don't play games, but I do a LOT of multitasking.
Cheers,
TK

I see that your
"256Meg Geforce 8400GS (Cheapest with Pixel Shader 4 Support)"
doesnt support dual DVI.
Shame, as in all respects it's all you would need for 2d work and basic OS 3d stuff.
This version of the same card does support DualDVI:

Welcome. You can probably sell your current one on ebay (or even here) and get most of your money back, as cards like that wont lose money quickly.

HIS ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI PCI-E : his-hd29gt
very nice price on the 2900gt
go with it all the way
recommending to a few friends straight away
I seem to remember that the GT is the cut down version but for £45 that's a good price.
Running the 19" on d-sub really shouldn't have any noticeable differnce. What are you running that's causeing problems?
Careful with the 2900gt. Its a long card and requires 450w and 30a or more on the 12v rail.
I bought one last week and its very good. See THIS post for more.
In 2D mode, it's quiet, but 3D it's a 'screamer'
Bargain for £48 delivered though.

It's mainly text that is noticeably distorted on the D-Sub connection. Also, certain colours seem to "swim" a little compared to the very solid image from the DVI connection.
I use the computer mainly for programming purposes and a huge amount of web browsing so I see a great deal of text.
Mithrandir - 580 Watt Hiper PSU with plenty of space in the case, so shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for all the responses.
That's odd, might be a dodge cable, are these TFT or CRT screens?
Well if there's not 3d work of any kind going on you don't need much in the way of gpu power
have a look at some of the XFX cards, yes I know people say there RMA process is stinky in the UK but they do tend to fit all there cards with dual DVI.
In multimedia usage, ATI forever... 2900GT is the best choice i think.
