Ok...
I'm a bit confused and searching the internet isn't much help either. I have a 3850 with the on board audio chip so I can put video and sound through a HDMI cable.
Will any old HDMI-DVI adapter work, or does it need to be a specific one, i.e. THE ATi one?
This one is only £4 but the ATI ones are hard to come by (only come with the boxed card, and still some manufacturers decide against putting these in)
The ATI one looks like this: Product detail - DVI-HDMI ADAPTER
So have any of you tried a normal / cheap adapter ? I have no way of trying for a couple of weeks, so it would be nice to get it to work first time :) Reason for asking is that I've caught wind of you not being able to get sound if you don't use the proper ATi one...
Cheers,
Ian
