Card Pricing Questions (in a few weeks.)
I have been thinking of buying another 9600GT when I get my new pc on order to run in SLI mode, and was wondering what sort of price reductions I can expect to see with the release of the new Nvidia (and ATI?) cards soon - will they affect the price even though they are mainly *high* end releases?
9600GT with appropriate ram (512mb) is about £85-95 on Ebuyer at the moment. I know no one can predict the exact nature of the price drops, but what sorta price will it possibly go down to £50? £70?
Thanks in advance.
Re: Card Pricing Questions (in a few weeks.)
If it actually replaces the 8600GT you could expect the £50 - £60 price range. No idea what they plan to do though. You'll be fine at 1680 x 1050 or less though :)
Re: Card Pricing Questions (in a few weeks.)
I think I will be happy with just the single 9600gt for a while, but if and when they go to that sort of price range I will have to scoop one up for SLI! The reviews have all been positive about their performance in SLI that I have read.
One small concern though, is a 500watt power supply good enough for x2 9600gt? They seem to have some of the lowest power consumptions (from what I have seen) compared to the 8800 and 9800. I have read that a 500watt supply is good enough for two 8800's even, but I don't want any unexpected nasty suprises.

Yep a decent 500W will take that in it's stride.
