    Silent cooling for 8800gts 640mb...

What can people recommend for theis card in my system as in my 'my system' tag? No fans would be a huge bonus...

Or is there an available, quick, silent card I could replace it with?

One of the thermalright bigguns works as does this zalman
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...20VGA%20Cooler

    but the zalman needs this
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...RAM%20Heatsink

making it a whopping £50 and thermalright will be 40ish.

Your best bet would be selling the GTS and then buying something like the 8800GT and sticking the artic cooling accelero on it with a yate loon/nexus fan like SPCR do

Better performance that the GTS and silent with the fan undervolted.

Blimey, the Zalman one looks a right faff.

Can you give me a link to the thermalright one?

Its a shame that there are not any decent gfx cards with passive cooling on the market in the UK. I know you can get them in the US but no one sells them here!

Not as bad as I thought Price wise, I think they have gone down
    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2826.html
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?W...source=froogle

These are huge though, with a fan I think it's 3 or 4 PCI slots.

THats the only decent passive one I can think of

Blimey, that thing is huge! Looks like it could pull the mobo off of the case!

I don't have any problems with it eing over the slots as the only thing I have in their apart from the gfx is a USB riser jobbie. I will have a think and perhaps get some scaffolders in for the install.

Re: Silent cooling for 8800gts 640mb...

lol yeah, I think it's webby who had one is his little silverstone TJ-08 and it was pretty much on the bottom of the case by the time a fan was on it

I don't know if you saw but I editted the above with this
    http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/1259...html?srcid=867

It's the only decent performing passive card I can think of.

    Free wet wipes?

    I'm there!

Actually getting stuff from pixmania is not too bad for me as their London collection things is just down the road from me. Decisions, decisions...

    Might be another option.
