anywere stocking water cooled GF 280's ?

i cant seem to find them anywere, scan says next week but im not so sure !

either that or a decent priced EVGA 280 would do as i could put a water block on it, wouldnt really want to pay over 360 for a evga as there are other options. i dont want to balls up my warranty tho.

afaik EVGA allow the removal of the heatsink. ?

Re: anywere stocking water cooled GF 280's ?

what part of "its not in stock" didnt you understand ?

    Availability*3-7 days dispatch Buy Now
its not rocket science to realise that means they dont keep stocks and assume there supplier does.

at least scan say "pre order" being a bit more honest about it.
and scans isnt a bodge job of an overprices POS that the vadmin site has, i already saw that anyway.

unless vadims site says same day dispatch they dont have it in stock.

Re: anywere stocking water cooled GF 280's ?

because i have a custom water cooled nvidia motherboard that i dont intend to upgrade in the near future, i was running 8800gtx's in SLI until it popped and scan cannot get a replacement so im stuck with a bit of money for my 6 month old £300 card (will be lucky to get £100 out of them)

i want to go sli again so im going to buy a gtx280 now and another in a few months when prices drop

so ATI is not an option.

and i want a water cooled card so i dont have to faff about with it as i want to cool my video with water as the rigs setup ready.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=838503

by the time i buy a decent crossfire board and water blocks its going to cost more than 2 3870's

guess so, still 400 quid quite a lot for single card, have you thought of getting a 260 instead sinse it only a little slower than 280 and this only in super high res.

    or maybe 2x gt9800s+

Re: anywere stocking water cooled GF 280's ?

scan said there option was a 9800gtx, tbh i prefer the top of the range or i would be waiting for my 9800gtx and flogging mo other 8800gtx to get another 9800gtx.

its just not me. i want a 280 end of story.

i run 1920x1200 native and even 2 8800's dipped below 60fps in some games due to vsync being enabled, and as i use trackIR in games that support it people who also have it will tell you screen tear is a nono with trackIR so it has to be able to push high fps to keep its head over 60fps

it wont be long b4 i get the itch to get a 2nd 8800gtx, then a 790 chipset and a 3rd will be on the cards.
