    Re: Which graphics card

They are all very much the same. go with the cheapest you can find from a good supplier..

Not very up to date with ATi vendors aftercare, but I would think sapphire are quite good as they used to be for me.

It all comes down to warranty in the end. They are all reference designs.

Out of the above HIS will give you the best customer after sales and I think Gigabyte offers a 3 year warranty where the rest is 2 years. HIS is the most expensive.

I went for the Sapphie on my 4870 because I liked the way it looked. lol.

    Re: Which graphics card

about 80-85 degrees, around 3 degree's hotter than idle which is a problem with the drivers apparently.

An arctic cooling accelero with a 120mm fan strapped to it will run far cooler and as silent as you make the fan

When you consider the cost of after market cooling for the 4850, the 9800gtx is actually a better buy imo

    Re: Which graphics card

You don't need aftermarket cooling for the 4850 as much as you would need aftermarket cooling for the 9800GTX. The fans are set on 15% as default so cranking them up would help keep temperatures controlled. Only reason for a new cooler would be for lower noise, which is why you get an aftermarket cooler for any graphics card.

    Re: Which graphics card

Yep Ive had my Sapphire 4850 512 for a week or so its all fine, overall the package is good better than some others so thats +1 for sapphire, as for the card runs fine, temperatures high but not a problem so far, i guess time will tell for that. I have tried the fan speed increase, it works, but gets noiser.

Would deffo go for the Sapphire
