    8800gs

My friend has a Packard Bell desktop which he brought from Currys. I think it is this one:

    http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...rmationSection

Since it only has an integrated graphics card, he wants to buy a graphics card. He is aiming for 8600GT but I am trying to persuade him for 8800GS.

The PSU is 350W. A linke says 8800GS needs 400W. He is scared that is not enough power. Is that enough power for the 384MB 8800GS?

    Re: 8800gs

It depends on the maker of the PSU and also the 12v rail/s. I believe an 8800gs needs 30v.

However, I'm certain the PSU won't be enough.

    Re: 8800gs

thanks Mithrandir, let me check with him what is the name of the power supply for this Packard Bell system.

If that is the case, what is the best graphics card for a 350W system? is it a 8600GT?
