    Talking Video card-newbie

    hi i have a PN5-E SLI asus motherboard with a 8800gts 640ram from 2006 good card.anyway would my motherboard support the new 9800gtx or the 9800gtx 260.i have vista 4gig ocz ram and coolermaster case with is a fare size and 600watt.thanks for the help !!!fist post sorry!!

    Cooler Master products are sweet! I have a Cooler Master laptop cooler. It's doing pretty well!

    Yes your motherboard will support them, be warned thoes these cards are very long, about 3cm longer than the motherboard, they can also block off sata ports awell.

    Just had a look at the p5n-e your clear on sata ports as they are a good bit below the cards.
    Have a look around and you might be able to pick up a bargin, (scan were selling 9800gtx for £117) and keep an eye out for the new 9800gtx+ which is coming out shortly (an overclocked version with a smaller core) and should sell for around £130-160

    I don't think there'll be an impact as the gtx is a monster of a card and 512mb is sufficient for a 22".
