Monitor selection quandary
I'm trying to choose a 22"/24" monitor. I quite like the look of the Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP but have read a few comments regarding lag issues. Given that I will be using the screen for gaming this is quite important so I was wondering if anyone here had the screen and would be able to give some feedback about it.
I am also looking at the BenQ FP241W which I've seen favourable reviews on also, I'm having trouble choosing between the two so what would people recommend? Please also feel free to suggest other screens since I am in no way tied to picking one of the two I mentioned.

Re: Monitor selection quandary
I not had any issues as such with Input lag... if you hold of a little while im pretty sure you'll get the newer revision with hopefully reduced input lag.
Re: Monitor selection quandary
I don't really use mine much for gaming, but the Samsung 24" 2493HM is a cracking screen and in my view great value for money. Got mine from microwarehouse for under £300 with 5% quidco and 5% Amex cashback....

By new version do you mean the firmware change? Can a firmware upgrade really make a difference to something like that? To be honest having seen the thread with pictures of the monitor and read various reviews on the net I'm getting more and more tempted by it. I'll be forced to wait anyway, need to get my next paycheck first!
Re: Monitor selection quandary
apparently only the early versions of the dell monitor had input lag but the newer ones dont
Re: Monitor selection quandary
I can say the BenQ FP241W is a very nice monitor - I got one when I got my PS3 and use it on my PC. No ghosting, no input lag (bar my graphics card slowly dyng under the strain of the resolution) and very nice colours.

I'd run sacred of that much potential delay.
The more they need to process the signal for graphics perfectionists, the worse a monitor is for gaming.
Re: Monitor selection quandary
Does that take into account the improvements made in the A01 revision? I figure out much else on that site apart from the model numbers

Mmmm! I'm also looking for a 22" TFT with about £250 to spend. Currently interested in the Samsung T220, anyone has any views on this or anyone could recommend something else.
Primary use for web design, but also watch videos and play the odd games, so a low refresh rate is a requirement.
Thanks in advance.

I'm looking at this too; you can get £40 cashback if you buy it from Ebuyer, Amazon and various other places (for some reason, the Scan page says only £20, but the Samsung T&Cs suggest otherwise).

Another FP241W user here, image quality is superb :)

I posted some of my reasons for my choice to help others a while back, hope it's helpful. The models I looked around at have probably been updated since but most of what I found about the range of monitoes in general still seems to apply today.
Moniter upgrade questions are some of the more common ones around here so I'm rather suprised there's no sticky guide about it yet...
