well my bfg 8800gts(g92) gets around 75C on load at 50% fan speed which is to loud imo(louder than my case fans) so was wondering if there are things that i could by to put on it to help cool it, cant change cooler as i want to keep my warranty but if u know of things that wont void it thne please reply :P

aim a fan at the back of the card
do u mean the back of pcb? just making sure lol, well will try and find a fan for it but i already have 2 120mm fans on the side panel which are blowing air just above it or maybe on it, slightly out of aline ment.
yeh i used to rest a fan on the back of the card (pcb), you need to come up with something to hold the fan off the card a little bit, but it does drop temps a fair bit more.

May make it possible to mount a fan above but of the card don't have one so can't say for sure.

thanks gonzo, i used ur idea by straping a fan by 2 cable ties lol, its managed to knock temps down by about 5C which is great. i need to bump my scan order up by £15 so does anyone know if the thermalright addons are good? and are u able to see if its been mounted on the card(just incase i need replacement)Quote:

does it just clip onto the screws on the back of the card or something? and will this fit an 8800GTS 512mb?
As far as I remember hicks, you remove the 4 screws around the gpu from the back of the card then rescrew them back on through the cooler plate (lit it's some giant washer)

You might want to get some decent thermal paste as well and reseat the cooler with it.
check the makers website for compatability, but i think it uses the frame mounts round the gpu socket to attach so you should be ok
Looked at a couple of reviews just now and the difference is like 4C on load, not worth £15 imo so i guess im not getting it lol. ANy other suggestions?Quote:
