    Not really. You would be better off with an 8800GS at that sort of money.

    Re: Leadtek GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3

    its definitely faster than a 6800U, but for todays games you are better off with the 8800GS/9600GSO/9600GT/HD3850/HD3870 even if you had to pay a little bit extra upto £70

    careful about going higher, you can get an 8800GT for £90 now, yes it is a vicious cycle.

    but all the cards I mentioned would smoke a 7900GT, much much better value for money.

    Re: Leadtek GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3

    OK cool, Just seemed like a good deal! (this is why i need this forum lol)

    I know wht you mean about always going higher, thinking I can afford just a little bit more lol.

    I think I may just wait until I can afford somthing a little bit better. Maybe around £120 ish. Wont be playing anything to high. Mainly CS; source and a few others on a 19" LCD.

    Thanks for stopping me making a mistake!

    Re: Leadtek GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3

    Well as has been said it would be faster, not massively so. (the 6800ultra was very good for what it was) if it was down in the £34-40 then yes.

    Alltold £60 is a bit of an arkward price, there's not alot that's good for that price.

    push it slightly to £70 and you're looking at the 9600GSO (I'm not sure about that card to be honest)
    Idealy you need to get your budget up to at £100-120 mark
    rough numbers
    9600gt = £90-100
    8800gt 512mb = £115-125
    8800gs = £90
    3850 512mb =£70-90
    3870 = £100
    4850 = £120

    Shop about and you can get a card for less
    3850 512mb Gecube £70 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144318
    8800gt Zontac (factory oc) £90 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134732
    9800gt ECS (Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 cooler) £105 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148039
    9600gt Inno3D £75 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/147945

    Too expensive at that price, B-grade an' all. You'd be better off buying a 3850 (512mb) from ebuyer at £67.

    No don't get that one, it's the powercooler card which has a rather loud fan on it and the only way to slow it down to reduce the volume is a seperate fan controller. (it's not doable with software)
    Why I listed the next one up in price
