Dell will be the best place to source and install a new laptop chip. Ask for a free labour on the repair (or free parts) if you think that the part has died before it is reasonably expected to last.
Did that many times, the answer is "well sir, computers are made of electronic components and these do fail in time, you are unlucky sir" "thank you for choosing dell and have a nice day"
I also emailed lots of complaints etc with no replies. Its pay the money and thats it no movement with the indians.
Ask to speak to their superior, explain that you value Dell's excellent build quality and reliability and that their reputation is being harmed by a defective nVidia chip. It would restore your faith in Dell's excellent service if they were to carry out a good-will gesture and help you.
You could try ebay. One of my friends found a replacement Ati x700 for his lappy, though that was a Fujitsu-Siemens, and it did take him a while to find the chip. I'm sure I used to see a lot of dell spares on ebay.
Had to give in and pay, I tried everything £250 for the repair. I had a bum fight with the tech as he wanted the card back for refurb, but I advised him I own the card as I have paid for it in the repair and not under warranty. I removed it from the room. He did speak to Dell who advised him the card was theirs, he advised them my angle, they would not speak to me, and told him they would call me later. He left without MY card. I am going to see if I can get it repaired, then I will have a spare or sell it
