    Chossing a 22" monitor

I'm looking at these 2 on Scan to upgrade my 19" Dell 1400x900 screen

    Hanns G 21.6" http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=664836

    Hyundai 22" http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=850345

Can anyone comment with first hand experience of these?

Budget is sub £140 and want 21.6 - 22 inch screen. Picture quality, tilting stand, 1680x1050 res and Digital input of some kind are the things I want.

Will be used for general internet, video/photo editing, gaming (current games), blah blah blah

The 22" Neovo also looked promising but I found out it had a fixed stand which is no good as it needs to adjust so my 3year old can watch movies on it whilst sitting in the same chair I normally use.

Would need a HDMI to DVI convertor for the Hanns G but can pick those up for £5 now.

One thing I will say it that most cheap monitors and most others as well, while they are tilt adjustable, not very tilt adjustable. They rely on friction to keep there position and are not designed for constant/regular adjustment.
For that you really want an adjustable stand/monitor arm which will be around £20-30
    EG

Ergotron Neo-Flex LCD Monitor Desktop Stand (freestanding)

    or

Comrad Desk Mount (an arm you clamp to the desktop)
    http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...245315&CatId=0

or come fitted but only on the more expensive models of monitors.

    Re: Chossing a 22" monitor

    Hi Macca,

Check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ for monitors and everything else!

If you can push your budget I'd go for either -

    Acer P223WD

    or

    Samsung SM-2232BW

What ever you get make sure it has a DVI connection. DVI-D (digital only) DVI-I (digital and analogue), either is fine.

Yeah, theres alot out there but do your reseach and you'll get what you need. Thats the catch i think... what to you need out of a monitor?

For gaming? a high refresh rate etc.

Maybe just web browing and documents? A biiger lower quality screen for the money.

Movies? Good contrast and decent depth to the blacks.

Find the ones you like the look of, that meet your requirements, within your budget and then trawl the web and Read the Reviews!
