    Samsung 22" LCD options

OK, I'm ordering my new PC tonight, but I'm just a little unsure as to which monitor to go for. I want to spend about £190 and get it from Ebuyer or Scan, and have narrowed the choices down to three Samsung models; the 226BW (£193.49), the 226 CW (£188.98) or the T220 (234.91, £40 cashback).
As I understand it, the 226CW is a BW where you are guaranteed to get the superior Samsung panel, but this doesn't explain why it is cheaper than the latter. The T220 has a much higher contrast ratio, but is this likely to make much difference in practice? Given the choice, what would you hexites suggest?

Anyone? Sorry to sound pushy, but I postponed the order so I could get some opinions and I really want to get it done tonight.

    Re: Samsung 22" LCD options

I'm not sure how much of a visible effect the higher contrast ratio's will have, in terms of the T220. But it looks to be better in most area's compared to the other two. I was looking at the other two myself, last week, but even though they do look great.. I personally would probably go for the T220. It's about the same price [With the cashback] and the specs seem better than the others.

    Re: Samsung 22" LCD options

I would go for the T220 simply because of the better specs.

My dad has the 226BW and my uncle has the 226CW and both are very very good. I rate samsung monitors alot (Y)

    Re: Samsung 22" LCD options

Is there a great difference between the Samsung 226CW and the 226BW? I read about the wider colour gamut for the CW but I don't know what real world difference there is.

Costs more; the T220 has £40 cashback at the moment, so I decided to take a risk and go for it. I'll let you know what I think of it.

    Re: Samsung 22" LCD options

I'm very pleased with my 266BW

particulary good for gaming no ghosting, wide field of view

not keen on the supplied colour tuning programs they seem to overcomplicate matters

left mine as default driver looks spot on

    Re: Samsung 22" LCD options

Just received mine today. Screen looks more expensive than the price tag. I haven't had the time to play with the setting yet, but so dar, it's pretty impressive (compares to my 2 old TFTs next to it ).

Powderhound, if you haven't ordered it yet, check out MicroDirect, it's probably the cheapest I've found, plus £40 cashback and 3% from Quidco, probably works out about £180 - bargain!

BTW, very quick delivery from MD, ordered yesterday morning, arrived today!

That's how much it came to from Ebuyer. Mine arrived a couple of days ago, but I haven't opened it yet because the rest of my PC hasn't arrived yet.
