I'm getting fed up of waiting for Dell's a01 revision of the 2408wfp and have been considering other options. I saw this on the today only page (about £320) and wanted to find a review, none of the usual sites I check have one. Can anyone help me out here?
So in other words a review of the W240D PVA panel. Definitely NOT the TN panel. And also NOT the 241D PVA. And does anyone here own it and have an opinion on it?
Custom pc had a review in their mag this or last issue, got about 70 odd %. I've had one since Jan and its a good monitor for the price. Everything you'll possibly need in terms of inputs and stand adjustibility. Had the TN panel version before but exchanged it for the pva version and very glad i did, the colours are much better. there's a tiny bit of inverse ghosting that you may notice on the desktop and when browsing forums, but in games you'll not notice it. I've played crisis and other games on it and haven't noticed a thing. it's one of the cheapest pva panels for a 24" model with all the bells and whistles! only thing is it has seem to develop faults amongst users, the most common is the 'buzzing' fault where the panel buzzes after some time of use. I've had to send mine back to hyundai because the monitor wouldn't turn on, but it's been fixed in under a week and i've just got to sort out a date for it to be returned to me.
I'm not too worried about the whole issue, as things do breakdown. the fact it comes with a 3 yr warranty afaik means that i'm covered for a long time if anything else may happen. if you want more coverage then the dell would be the choice for you...
the hyundai imo is a great monitor with pretty much all the offerings of the dell apart from displayport and the memory card readers but for less!
I have the same monitor also and its great, rufeo pretty much covered everything so no point repeating. I recently had to send mine back due to an image issue but now have a replacement and all is fine.
I been toying with the Samsung SM245B 24"
Will a gtx260 or Radeon 4870, 4860 cut it with games on that resolution 1920 x 1200
also looking for a kvm that has twin dvi and can go up to that resolution
either the gtx260 or 4870 will be enough for 1920 x 1200. think you mean the 4850? that may struggle a bit if you turn up all the details in games, but if you're not too fussy and don't want to spend much it'll cope. depends what your budget is really
Yes sorry I meant 4850, would the 4870 be better or in between 4850 Toxic Edition

I have this monitor and i love it :D i bought it specifically because i have plugged my xbox 360 into it swell as my pc. And it has 1:1 pixel mapping and scaling to keep the aspect ratio so when i run my 360 games at 1080p i get little black borders top and bottom instead of the picture stretching horribly vertically. The pva panel is great, great colours and absolutely brilliant viewing angles. and you can raise the monitor up which is useful for when playing guitar hero or rock band where you are stood up, or when you're playing a racing game with a wheel and the wheel covers some of the screen so just raise the screen up! The monitor can also be rotated to portrait view but that's not all that useful apart from reading forums really. Although i've found rotating it is more useful for when plugging in stuff so you're not fumbling round the back.
All in all a great monitor, dvi, vga, hdmi, and component. I bought it for £420 and was worth every penny.
I have this too, and I also think it's great. I have an XBMC modded Xbox plugged in via component, an HD-DVD player via HDMI, and a media centre PC hooked up via DVI, and all look great.
The buttons are a bit hard to see as they are touch sensitive, and I had a funny issue where is was squashing the vertical resolution (but turning it off for a wee while sorted that out). Other than that it's spot on.
Agree that rotating the display is really handy to get to the connections.

I've got mine running at 16:9, when i had it 16:10 the wallpaper was a bit stretched and it really bugged me. plus i'm guessing at 16:10, movies would also be stretched. i got the monitor because it had 1:1 pixel mapping and boy am i glad i did, i know i'm really picky.....Quote:
