Well, to be honest DX10 (at least in COD4) isn't really that massive a leap above DX9 is it?
That being said, it was all silky smooth at maximum detail at a res of 1900 x 1200. I might have to go out and try Crysis, I am really not that interested in the gameplay though as I heard it was pants... just the graphics. :D

I cant decide what to do, I am currently scrapping together what I want for a pc and dont want to make any mistakes lol

just picked up crysis today, because you can't really justify new toys without a nice game to look at. :)
It's just dx9, though obviously it'll run under dx10 and vista, it's only using dx9 calls.
CoH is the dx10 game.
I run cod4 on winxp and graphics look fine to me, not sure what I am missing with dx10, tried Vista but I just prefer xp
I don't like Crysis much either, but a friend brought his round last night to try out with my 4870 (+ E6850, 4GB 1066 & Vista HP32 on a P5K-E).
The auto-setting was 'high' everything and I have to say the view was very impressive - especially the vegetation. :)
