I wonder if this release will work with the Gigabyte 780G based motherboards?

I think the last working version for them was 8.5.

Installed here though this is on a new 4870 and first driver but seems ok

Are you sure that's not just Gigabyte failing to update their drivers page?

Probably.

However there are lots of people using the Gigabyte boards on MediaPortal systems, and the last couple of releases have caused big problems for them. reverting back to 8.5 and everything seems to be fine again. I believe this is XP rather than Vista too.

I have only jus upgraded to 8.7 lol

im loking at a new graphics card next month so will hold off till i get that
