New 20" Monitor, but which to get?

    Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted here but I need some help deciding on which monitor to get for my pc. My current Dell P991 is giving me a headache, it's 7 years old and needs replacing.

The 2 monitors that I have shortlisted are

    1: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141659
    2: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144799

It's for everyday use aswel as games so it has to be <5ms response time.
I don't want to spend more than £150 because that's all I can afford (only just).
And it has to have DVI input to be used with my Elsa 7950GT.

I haven't found many reviews regarding the Samsung 2043BW except here if it is anything to go by...
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001253

And for the IIyama here: http://www.digitalversus.com/article-411-3372-50.html

Both monitors sound like a very good choice, and I like the Samsung because of the stand, multi adjustable etc....
Can anyone give me further recommendations?

Re: New 20" Monitor, but which to get?

Hmm, both the ones you listed first are exactly the 2 I was choosing between (I also had another Asus Monitor, but it fell off before)
I eventually choose the Samsung, since Samsung is a good brand, and a lot of people gave me good recommendations on those.

Sad enough, I haven't got my new ordered PC yet, should come this weekend, so I can't tell you any from own experience, a part from that I choose for the Samsung ;P

Re: New 20" Monitor, but which to get?

It gets harder to find a 22" with DVI for less than £150, and then there's the quality of screen to consider.

For this sort of money your not going to the best panel no matter where you look, will all be TN panels (which will be more than adequate)
    Have a look on ScanTodayOnly
It has the newer 22" version of the Iiyama monitor for £158 with free delivery. Only £14 more than the older 20" version you were looking at (note the B1 and B2 revisions)

Or if you can stretch to £170 the ebuyer have an excellent deal on then Samsung SM2243BW 22" (£50 saving)

Re: New 20" Monitor, but which to get?

That Iiyama 22" has not got DVI and comes in at £163, not £158, so that's no good to me, sorry.

ha ha (look at previous edited post)

I have seen alot of talk about the monitor on forums being excellent value for money. From what I remember the vast majority were very pleased with thier purchase.
Have a google there is prob some reviews out there. It was going to be my choice until I picked up a bargain 2nd hand 22".

I would definately take it over the 20" monitors.

Also to get the TodayOnly price you just click green buy button next to the item on the actual TodayOnly page, it will then be added to your basket for the reduced price
