    24" Yuraku LCD from Mesh

Has anyone bought one of these recently from Mesh and if so what panel type was it TN or PVA?

    Cheers

The yuraku's afaik are all pva panels. the digimate ones floating around the web are a mixture of tn and pva panels. from what i remember, ocuk had to send a lot of pva panels out to ppl who had bought one of their digimate monitors which turned out to be tn panels. but that was meant to be a batch issue. haven't heard any such thing with the yuraku. my friend got his from misco and it is a pva panel, also the ppl i recommended to get one on here have all had pva panels to the best of my knowledge.

As luck would (or wouldn't) have it, a mate of mine got a Mesh panel just this week. It turned out to be a TN Yuraku panel judging by the code

really?! what was the code that came out? it'll be the first tn panel that i've heard of from a yuraku monitor if that's true

He tells me its LG-LM240WU3-TLA1, what ever that means??

There have been reports of TN panels in Yuraku monitors scattered around the web.

Re: 24" Yuraku LCD from Mesh

the code he found can be on this website:

    http://lcdtech.no-ip.info/en/data/mo...lcd.panels.htm

according to it it does seem to be a tn panel.... well the best thing about the net is if you buy stuff online you can return it under DSA, that way if you get a TN panel you can return and get a refund minus the postage. You could try asking the shop/website if the monitors are pva and if they say it is at least you've got something to go by. Just checked the misco website and the 24" monitor isn't there anymore, so it seems like there is a problem....

Apologies his was a Mesh panel (I've edited my original post to reflect this).

What I don't get is that for a TN panel it looks amazing, they way everyone goes on about them I thought it would be awful but I could move around the panel to some quite extreme angles without seeing any colour shifts. All a bit odd really??

Re: 24" Yuraku LCD from Mesh

have you tried looking at the screen from above? that's probably the easiest way of telling the two apart. You should still be able to see the image on the screen pretty clearly on a pva or ips panel, you'll notice alot of colour and viewing distortions if it's a tn.
