    TFT Monitor Recommendations for design

    Hey,

I'm in the market for a new TFT 20"+ and planning to do alot of Photoshop work on it, i was wondering which monitor would be best to work on for accurate colour purposes. I will also be buying a colour calibrator for proper calibration.

My budget is around the £500 mark.

On my list so far is the :

    Lenovo ThinkVision L220x

    BenQ FP241W

    Dell 2408wfp

    Thanks in advance!

I have a Dell 2007WFP ultrasharp and I absolutely love it, very very crisp picture. The 24" version should do you well!

Hi,supposidly a IPS Panel are the best(think a lot of MAC monitors are IPS,but expensive),but a VA panel not far behind,at a guess.

Have a look at HP LP2475w 24-inch(S-IPS, i am not sure if this is confirmed) @ 389quid ex vat

I do not own this monitor but it has the spec to be a great monitor for photo editing. Looks like a capable monitor.

I was looking at similar stuff... the benq is not bad, In fact they are all good I lie the design of the LG monitors (I'm using one of their 22" models atm...Though it does go on the blink every now and again) . save a little money?
I liked the idea of the rotating design, but you could just get a vesa mounting for this purpose. I always get the urge to work in profile though...

NP . Please let us know if you find something. I am saving up to get this as well if it is genuinely a S-IPS panel i.e. I am planning to use it as my photo editing/normal workstation monitor. Currently I have these on my list Hazro HZ24W, Dell 2408WFP, HP LP2475w, BenQ FP241W. I don't do a lot of gaming so monitors with TN Panels aren't on my list.

    Cheers

Update: Seems like "HP LP2475w" is an (IPS) monitor afterall. guys at hardforum thread seem to confirm it. Thats good news. They rate it above the Dell 2408WFP monitor which received very good reviews for digital photoediting when it came out. off to find official reviews. Here's the link for the thread.

Many thanks mate, it seems that we can see a professional review from tftcentral in the coming days will be interesting to see what is said about it then.

Have you seen the cheapest place to get it from by any chance?

Pantone Huey standard/Pro should suffice if you are not a pro I think. dabs.com were selling the standard one for 45quid inc vat couple of weeks ago and I missed it. I think the only differences between standard and pro is the multimonitor support and bit more color profiles. If you are looking for pro calibration kit then spyder series might be good one look at. I haven't researched about pro kits enough to recommend you a particular one but tftcentral has good reviews on some of them.

Re: TFT Monitor Recommendations for design

Thanks for starting this topic, ikkitousen, I was considering posting a similar topic about photoshop and tft monitors & you've fulfilled my curiousity.

I've had a quick look at scan & this monitor isn't available at the moment, would I be able to request scan to see if they can get 'HP LP2475w' in stock, if possible, who would i have to contact/pm?

    thanks in advance
