Digimate 24" Monitor problem
I recently purchased a Digimate L-2442WD monitor, and I'm having a few problems. Basically I need help to decide if it's the monitor at fault or something with my other hardware/settings. I run windows in 1920x1200 (the monitor's optimal resolution) with no problems; the fun starts when I try to run a game at that resolution. The screen starts to flicker madly and a huge number of horizontal black lines appear. This has happened with COD4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R,at any resolution above 1280x1024, and GRID wouldn't even load at any resolution other than 960x600. The only game that has worked at high res was FIFA 08. I have tried changing the aspect ratio, refresh rate and VSync settings, but to no avail. Any help would be great. My system:
Athlon FX-62
4GB OCZ Reaper PC2-6400
2 GeForce 8600GTS SLI
WD Raptor 74GB HDD
WD 500GB SATA-II HDD
DGM L2442WD 24" Monitor
Re: Digimate 24" Monitor problem
Sounds more like the graphics cards to me. Are they overclocked at all? Have you tried just running one of them instead of SLI?
What power supply do you have, that could also be the problem.
Re: Digimate 24" Monitor problem
Thanks for the quick reply. The cards are running at stock speeds and the PSU is 1000W. Tried disabling SLI though - problem solved! Can't believe I didn't try running them singly in the first place :embarrassed:. Performance sucks with only one 8600 at 1920x1200 though, but I'm expecting an HD4870X2 on monday, all should be well then!
Thanks again Lanky :)
Re: Digimate 24" Monitor problem
No problem, glad you got it sorted. I guess one of the cards may have been faulty (ie the one you disabled). I suppose it may have worked if you lowered the clocks a little but then again it may not, since you have a new card on the way there's no real need to mess around with them. I would also think it possible that the power supply wasn't sufficient but with 1000W that seems unlikely (it is a reputable brand right?).
