Waiting for a passive cool one. Anyone could confirm that all 4xxx series output HD audio (TrueHD, etc) via HDMI?

    Re: HD 4650 release

Quite a few interesting benchmarks here :-

    h**p://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-6278-view-Radeon-HD-4670-and-HD-4650-performance-review.html

Looks like the 4670 is the best budget card. It appears to stay within 10% of the 3850, however, the 3850/70`s are coming close to the £50 mark, which makes the £55 ebuyer 4670 a bit dissapointing.
Sub £50 with GDDR4 would be much more enticing.

I agree that the HD3850 is good value but it is probably EOL.The HD4670 may also start dropping in price as stock becomes more plentiful. Also people do not have to worry as much about having to buy a new PSU as it has lower power consumption. Hence it is the perfect upgrade for many people who are not hardcore gamers.

    Re: HD 4650 release

    Indeedy,
But the power requirements aren`t insignificant. I can see plenty of PSU`s going south from upgraders taking too much of a step up. In fact the low-ish power of this card may lull some into a false sense of security. Those with an already marginal PSU could suffer.
Will be interesting to see the price level of stocked cards, and early adopters opinions.

    Re: HD 4650 release

Not bad considering it seems to trump the 8800gs-ermm i mean 9600GSO. One question remains that wasn't in the artcile though..

    but will it blend?...
