    Sapphire 9800PRO "Lite-Retail" overclocks please

i'd like to know your overclocks with these cards,

state overclock, cooling, 3dmark scores, and most importantly the ram on the card.

    thanks.

I didn't think whether it was Lite-Retail or not made a difference - it's just the stuff that comes with the card that's different, isn't it? Might be wrong though (probably am knowing me )

Yeah lite-retail just means tarted up OEM, basically it doesn't come with all the extra games, accesories etc but the graphics card is exactly the sam i think.

iirc all sapphire cards have good ram, though im not sure what rating, either 2.8 or 2.2 samsung, (2.8 = 357mhz, 2.2 = 450mhz) probably... I wouldnt know as I havent got one but if you find a review on a card they might say..
All 9800xxx cores will perofrm about the same with the same cooling and same voltage. If you want a decent overclock from it get a decent cooler, as stock ones are never good enough. you should see ~425-500mhz on core *with* good cooling and higher with voltmods *and better cooling*
For example my 9700np, would go to 360 and got VERY hot, and slight aftifacts, after changing cooling I got 410mhz. then I done some volt mods (to 1.7v, same as 9800 stock) and got 470 artifact free. Now ive done some changes to my gpu waterblock and it should take it to 500-550 with slightly higher vmods.

My Sapphire 9800 Pro Lite retail is Hynix but I can't be bothered pulling it at the moment to check what speed.

note that the 9700pro sapphires had 2.8ns samsung chips. which is equal to 357mhz, so they were fairly underclocked. Im not sure of 9800pro speeds, but if its lower than 340 then its possible the same chips were used. properly cooled and volt modded they probably reach 380mhz+

My 9700pro has 2.8ns Hynix chips. Default 325/310, normal 385/337 with water and ranksinks. I believe my maze4gpu made 20-30Mhz on the core. No Vmods. I was sorely temped when I saw Sapphire cards at £135. My card is a sapphire, it came as a oem card but I paid full price for it from www.savastore.com. Tried emailing Sapphire asking where my games and redline was but they didnt reply. There was a hoohah at the time over cards shipping with no bundle.

I totally lied when i siad my card had Hynix chips. I can't see them atm but they are samsung GC2A or B. I remember that 9800pro had talk of using DDR2 chips but they used same ram as 9700pro in the end. Not sure why 9800pro gets better RAM o/c than my card, possibly more voltage or maybe better signaling.

BTW Lite version is no different to retail for the actual card, I am sure people with the card can comfirm they also have samsung, cause even 9700pro does!
