    8800GT 256mb vs HD4670

I have noticed that the 8800GT 256mb has dropped to under £50 at Ebuyer. I assume that with AA the HD4670 is better but I wonder how the 8800GT 256mb would fare in games without AA??

It's ok for £50 or less but I think I would rather have the HD3850 512mb for £60 (also on ebuyer).

Without AA most game will be quite happy on it though even at higher resolutions.

    Re: 8800GT 256mb vs HD4670

Heck a 3850 512mb will be fine with AA at lower res

    A 8800gt 256mb should be ok with most games on 17-19" resolutions (1280x1024 1440x800) with 4x AA
I find a lot of people underestimate graphics cards and there performance, my 7900gs 256mb could handle cod4 at x2 AA @ 1280x1024
There's only a couple of games about that really throw fps numbers off into unplayable (esp at low res) and the big one is crysis.

    Re: 8800GT 256mb vs HD4670

I play all my games at 1680x1050 on a 256mb x1950xt and it's fine. The only games I have to drop settings down from maximum are NWN2 (shadow map is a memory hog) and Crysis.

Knowing that, the 8800GT will be really fast for most situations.
