    How best to clean monitor?

What is the best way to clean a (LCD) monitor? Mine has a few finger marks etc on it.

I was thinking about getting this but wondered if any of you lovely people would reccomend anything else?

Might have a look on viewsonic's sight see if they have anything, doubt it though.

I have found a lint free cloth dampened with water is the best bet. Make sure the cloth is only damp. Works a treat.

I use a little bit of Mr. Muscle Glass Cleaner, sprayed on some anti static duster thing i've got, manages to clean off all the marks without smudging or smearing, had the monitor a few years and it hasnt done any damage to it. Shame it can't clean the beatle smear on the inside of my LCD monitor

Allsop make a product which is a spray accompannied by a cloth that is compressed in a holder. This is by far the best LCD/TFT cleaner I have used , and I have used them all. IT will get rid of those hard to clear marks where you have spat all over the screen after shout at some 9 year kid in america who has just pwned you for the 15th time!!! - er not that I ever do that......

http://www.allsop.com/cleaning-and-o.../clean-screen/ You can get then in PC World in a couple of sizes, about £10 and well worth it.

Re: How best to clean monitor?

You should only really use a specially formulated cleaning liquid designed for use on TFT/LCD/Plasma screens and/or the equivalent moist wipes. Finish off by 'buffing' with a lint free microfibre cloth to give a 'perfect' finish. Special packs are readily available in many retail outlets and from ebay and amazon.
The use of tap 'water', baby wipes and other cleaning agents (e.g. mr muscle) is not a good idea on a display costing anywhere between £100 to £1000 and you can easily damage the surface coating and create 'micro scratches' on the display surface which are then impossible to remove.
A different and more robust approach can be taken with glass screens but you should be very careful with standard 'soft' TFT/LCD/Plasma display panels.
