hey guys brought myself a bfg max oc gtx260 896mb 216core but i have a 540w psu... now will that be sufficient enough do u think? couldnt resist for 130 quid

Where did you get it for £130?!

That 540W is more than enough. Not a big fan of tagan PSU's but generally 300W would be enough as long as it was a decent PSU.

My PC with a GTX260 fitted draws up to 370w from the wall, so you should be fine with a 540w PSU as long as it has at least 2 6 pin pcie power connectors.

300W would be enough as long as it was a decent PSU.

I think that's underestimating it a little, it'd probably work with an E2180 but with a Q6600 or similar I think 400W would be safer, the GTX 260 alone draws 150W+ at peak.

the corsair vx450w can give out 700w stably...

as staffsMike says.. a decent 300w powersupply could run it...

Forget what can struggle to, but just about run it. I would get 450W minimum to comfortably run it

As long as It's a strong PSU and has good rails. That should be fine.

I have a HD 4870 that is running with an Antec 550W PSU and the 4870 draws more power than the GTX 260.
