    Lightbulb Any1 got a 3D monitor?

Scan has Zalman Trimons in stock, anyone used one? The Nvidia stipulation puts me off a bit - the iZ3D (not available here yet I don't think, please correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't have this drawback I believe.

What about having 3 such monitors on an Ergotron LX stand - could you use a Matrox TripleHead2Go and have 3x3D gaming goodness (I've had too much wine tonight sorry)?

Actually I think I know the answer to the latter...

    Re: Any1 got a 3D monitor?

Ok from what I know about this stuff.

It's been around for a while, I first got to see this way back in 99, at that time only CRT's could run it and then only very high refresh rate crt's
The two images where done on alternate scans, so you where halveing the refresh rate which was also the reason for not working on LCD's they just could not cope with 120hz or higher that was required (and still can not)
    It never took off.

This system from Zalman is a very cleaver way around the refresh rate problem, it displays both images simultainiously and uses an additional polarization layer on the monitor itself.
The up shot is you need both glases and monitor for it to work.
Oh and an Nvidia card as only nvidia drivers support it (so no you couldn't use a matrox tripple header card)

The iZ3D runs the same way, however it seems to use a seperate driver layer to convert the output so can be used with ati and nvidia cards, not sure about the matrox, however
My computer configuration includes two monitors and one graphics card. Can I use the iZ3D monitor and my existing monitor together?

-No. The iZ3D monitor requires two outputs on the video card. If you have two video cards, you can set them up where they work separately (non-SLI or Crossfire configuration) and connect the iZ3D to one video card and your other monitor to the other video card.
so no tripple header, you'd need three seperate cards.
(note these monitors need 2 video feeds to work so to have a 2nd non-3d monitor you'll still need an extra video card)

Oh and AFAIK iZ3D are only sold via there website, they will ship to other countries but you''l have to pay more for that and custom charges on top.

One final note, the iZ3D is mainly compatible with DX8 & DX9, looks like DX10 or OpenGL is a probable no (depending on game)
