Question GTX 260 (192) Temperatures

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me with a little problem. I'm wondering what are you're opinions of what a reasonable temperature for a GTX 260 (192) is. At the moment I have a pre-overclocked XFX XXX edition and its temps are;

Idle - 38*c
Load (20 mins in AtiTool artifact scanning) - 54*c

My rig is in the My System bit <-.

Thanks, Lyall.

Yeah seems fine to me if anything they seem a little low.

GPUs are designed to run hot so I wouldn't be overly worried if it was running at 80°C under load but cooler is always better

Cheers for the info Webby,

Bear in mind its winter and I live in north west Scotland so I'd expect temps to be low .

Re: GTX 260 (192) Temperatures

Well from a few reviews idle temps are normally around 40-45°C and load 70-80°C with ambient temps ~23°C so expect to loose proportionally so if your room is 15°C then you will be ~8°C lower both at idle and load with that in mind you idle temp looks about right your load temp is still a bit low!

Re: GTX 260 (192) Temperatures

I was a bit bemused by the temps considering my old 8800GTS (G80) was at 50*c idle and 70*c load but as I said its probably the low ambient temperature. I just wanted to know how my temps were. Also wow at the noise when the fan is on 100% on the 260 it's like stepping on a cat's tail!

Lyall.
