Maybe it could be a little bit higher....but seems to be enough - not that im an expert on r9800 pro's scores.
Can you not get your CPU to 3ghz? looks considerably better than 2999mhz's...hehe

well that makes me feel better. I've also made a thread on this matter. I was getting 16k with my setup as well
What did you set your video cards's core/mem speeds?
My 3DMark scores are in my sig.
EDIT: Here is a quick run I did. We got similar scores once I pulled back my CPU and video card oc's.

Seems a bit low - I average about 17650 with an XP2500@11x200 & a 9800 Pro at the stock 380/340.
I get around 16,000 which I feel is a bit low?
You guys that get upwards of 17,000, what Direct3D settings do you have your card on? Balanced? Quality? High performance?

Laptop: 1.5GHz Centrino | 512MB | 60GB | 15" Wide TFT | Wifi | DVDRW
High performance for testing (but of course I don't play at that setting).
That's about it though - I don't bother with any of the other tweaks for getting higher scores.
With my 9800Pro at stock I get just over 17000, summit like 17050 I think it was. That's with a 2.3 256kb AMD. So I would say yours is about right.

yeah 16k is about right, i get similar scores @ stock
but i get 20k when i clock the card up past XT speeds and stick my cpu @ 12x200 =)
24/7 running speeds i get 17.3k, and its around on par with peeps here
nf7-s
1700 @ 11x200
2 x mushkin 3500 bh-5
and the card is clocked at 400/360 which i think most 9800pros can do quite easily.
I get around 17.5K in my shuttle (balanced settings)
never did understand why peeps use MAX performance settings for testing when its pretty much true non of us ever play games with them on.
kingabs score of 16.7k is perfectly normal, probably hit 17k with better ram, should can do 18k if he overclocks the 9800pro.
Quick.Q - what brand 9800pros you peeps got, what brand RAM does it have Samsung/Hynix and MAX overclocks.
foobar2K->Compass->Meridian502/557->B&W802
umm might c how high i can go with my card and then try again at getting 18k+
Remember, 3DMark01 likes bandwidth. Running dual channel with an AMD system and very tight memory timings really do help.

Im gonna agree with BUFF on this one, that score is about 1000k below what it should be. Im running a similar system to what you are and out the box with now tweaks i was scoring almost 18k
