I hope so, as it will also push the prices of the 4850s down, which is the one I intend to buy in the near future.

    I knew I should've held out for a 1GB card

Back on topic (); I'd noticed this myself over the last week or so. Gotta be good if you're on the look out for a new card. I wander whether we'll see the price of the 260GTX coming down?

hoping there are going to be some good drops and prices under the £166 that ocuk had with these cards

Re: 4870 Price war seems to have begun

It's even cheaper than that. Pixmania currently has 4870 at £130 for the 512Mb and £160 for the 1Gb. Other companies like OCUk, Novatech, Aria, etc are not that far off these prices. Sadly at the moment Scan seems to be higher priced than some others. They seem to be resisting the price war that is developping.

Re: 4870 Price war seems to have begun

I got my 4870 512mb from Pimania a while back when it was £159 using vouchers. Shame my crappy abit ip35 pro only has 4x PCI-e for the second slot but I got that cheap for £78 on a scan special.
