Even if it has slightly more than HD4830 performance if the power consumption figures are similar to the HD4670 ATI it would be a brilliant card for SFF and media PC use!!
I think I will wait for some performance figures before rather than hear say before making any decisions but as it is really a transition product I would guess die shrink and some performance boosts (mainly GDR5 and the wider memory bus) maybe it will outpace the 4850 but how much less power it will use I don't know, GDDR5 is a lot more power hungry than GDDR3 I would be surprised if it didn't require additional power over what it can draw from the slot, we can of course live in hope though![]()
I've just bought a Asus 4670, d'oh! Although it's only really for a HTPC that might see some light gaming on lego batman in addition to HD movies.
for HTPC use, the very lowest end new cards are sufficient.. the video decoding is very good.
Yeah, that's all it's for really, although at 720p resolutions I'm tempted to try one or two console ports. Not GTA4 though!
