ATI Radeon 2600 2900 stops on Splash Screen on 3d Mark 05 and 06

Hi guys,

I've posted this because I have fixed this issue, and having googled it, it is hard to find the fix. So eventually this will be for everyone who is struggling with this issue.

Radeon 2600 or 2900 sticks on the splash screen for 3d mark.

Go into your Windows folder, into System32 folder, find the Future Mark folder (it was placed there when 3d Mark was installed but is NOT the main install folder), into MSC (route on my PC looks like this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Futuremark\MSC ) and find the file called Direcpll.dll

Rename it. I just added a number 2 to mine so it's now called Direcpll2.dll

It's not a graphics driver...it's a FutureMark thing, where this .dll is asked to run to check the card, and some ATI cards chuck a wobbler and just stop.

And I have suffered it on about... 1 million billion, other-wise-perfect installs.

And now I've FOUND IT :)
