Help me buy a 26" television - £350 max.
After listening to some advice I've decided to go for a 26" television instead of a 22 mainly because of better support for HD and because anything bigger than 28" is too big for my room. (don't have enough space)
I have a budget of £350 maximum and would like to know what I can get for my money.
So far I've had a look at the Sony Bravia S Series 26" 26S3000 HD and the Samsung S86 26" LE26S86BD HD however I'm not 100% sure if these will go up to 1080p?
Any advice or suggestions?

How far away do you sit when watching it?
I ask because 1080p is not always the best thing to go for, it's often better and cheaper to go for 720p depending on screen size and viewing distance.

About 3 metres away.

Based on 10feet viewing distance (roughtly 3m) you'd only see benefit of 1080p over 720p on screens larger than 50"
In fact you'd not notice any real difference of 720p over non-HD
But as non-HD widescreen LCD tv's are next to impossible to find, a 720p is probably your best bet (but they are getting hard to find too)

Something like this should be good
http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...ory_oid=-34804
Bonus is you can pop into a currys store and have a look at one to see what you think of it before buying, all told a trip to currys would be a good idea to see what you like the look of and get an idea on prices
cheaper option

The cheap one looks...well...cheap and nasty :p
Anyone else have any experience with a decent 26"?

Try www.electrical-deals.co.uk I got my Phillips 26" from there for about £350 3 years ago and is still running perfect. They are refurbihsed, but there is some very attractive pricing.
They do also come with a standard one year warranty where they will fix it for free. Have a look see what you think.

And As I said before pop down to currys to actually look at the tv's and see what you think of them for build & image quality

As others on here have said full HD is pointless on a 26" display and at such a viewing distance, stick with 720p hd ready.
My recommendation would be the Samsung LE26A456 which should be available at your budget.
If you have more money to hand then of course go get the Sony KDL-26T3000 lol!
