    Possible to run 8600gt on a PCI-E x1 as a physx card

    I need some technical advise:
I have a 8800gt and want to run a 8600gt as a physx card but I only have a PCI-E x1 spare, is it possible to run it?

it will work in the pci-e x1 slot but performance we be fairly reduced. Also the pci-e x1 slot probably wont be open-ended so u might need to mod the card or mod your motherboard which i wouldnt advise.

You should also check drivers and software and stuff to see if the setup would work.

    Scan do a pci-e * 1 to pci-e * 16 riser, costs about 8 quid I think.
Works fine regarding functionality of getting a graphics card to run in a 1* slot, dunno about physx n stuff though.

would be interesting to hear how it goes, i happen to have an old 8600GTS laying around that could be put to use, drives on the other hand might be interesting considering the other card is ATI
