    Re: GTX280 for £230

nVidea announced price cuts as the GTX285 will be along soon (the 55nm higher clocked version of the GTX280) so at a guess overclockes are phasin in these price cuts and clearing stock for when the new cards arrive think it was the 15th they are released.

Anyway very good price if your looking to spend that sort of cash on graphics at the moment.

Excellent value for money IMHO!! I think that Scan also had an HD4850X2 for around £250 recently too!!

Wish I read this a little quicker. Was thinking of getting a XFX 260 Black but this has made me think twice.

Maybe Scan will drop their prices soon.

    Re: GTX280 for £230

I think the driver performance boost of the 260 had a knock-on effect of killing 280 sales, also.

The GTX260 cards (Especially when overclocked) give performance similiar or near to a GTX280 at 1920x1200 so quite good performance for the price.

You had a lucky escape! I ordered one when there were still 10+ in stock, but it didn't get allocated to me and I ended up not getting one - when I rang up to check up on my order they said they had sold out! Now I'm on the look out for another good deal - any ideas?
