But the ATI dx9 cards were even nicer, except for some dubious cooler choices (which oddly, isn't an issue at all on my x1950xt, despite it supposedly being the terrible design, it's way quieter than the 8800GT we have in the other computer).

I have an ATI 4870 512MB here; voted accordingly.

Wish I'd have had the patience and held out for the 1GB card though

9800GTX+ was, in my opinion an excellent card, i got one for a really good price from a m8 after my series of 260's/280's kept coming DOA, i have to say that even though im running a 4870 now, that 9800GTX+ was one excellent card.

Was?! It still is, don't tell me it's out of date already (please?! ). Only chose the 9800gtx+ over the HD4xxx series because when they first came out they were running really hot. But I guess HIS have sorted that out by now.

HD4870X2 here......in fact two of the little devils, and they keep me nice and toasty..
First time batting for the Red side though.
At the time, they were the fastest card on the market when I put my i7 system together..........there is always something faster and better around the corner....

Re: What graphics card have you got?

I'm still using a Zontec 8800GT AMP which is serving me will, I did fit a 9800GTX+ which I brought to put in a system I was making for a friend and found it only improved things by a couple of thousand in 3dmark03 and just over 700 in 3dmark06. So I think I will need a bigger leap to see any vast improvement to my current system.

Re: What graphics card have you got?

The Gfx card in my old beast is an 1900XT. It handled CoD4 really well, can still handle Crysis without any AA etc.. but once I've decided on a new build, it's gonna be thrown in the closet and never used again!
