What graphics card have you got?

Just thought it would be interesting to see what graphics card the average Hexus user has for gaming!! I am still on an HD3870 at the moment.

Edit 1 - made a mistake in the poll. Should have read HD4650(instead of HD4550). Forgot to add the ATI 29** series. Just vote for the HD3850/HD3870 as they are similar in performance. I would have added more options but 10 choices are the limit it seems for polls.

Edit 2: When I mean gaming card I actually mean those which are meant for modern gaming. This is why the HD4650 is listed as it is the slowest modern gaming card IMHO capable of reasonable performance in modern games. This consistent with the graphics card sticky in this forum.

I have not listed any of the high-end DX9 cards as there can be only 10 options in the poll!! Hence this is the reason the last option exists!!

2 x 4870's in Crossifre.

No idea why though as i still have (but not using) a 8800GTS G92 that served me just aswell and played EVERYTHING i threw at it.

I also have a Voodoo 3 kicking around aswell

eVGA 9600GT SC, however just ordered a eVGA GTX260 55nm SSC as the 9600GT can't do much at 1900x1200.

Some of us do but I still think it's a nice idea to get a cross section of what we use.

Must say that although I'm on a dx10 card I'm still on xp, so only running in DX9

Would be nice is hexus put up a page that took the information from everyones system specs and formatted it all into some nice charts showing the distribution.

8800GTX in the secondary PC

Got a 8600GTS kicking around that will be used as a physx card once I get a motherboard with enough PCI-E lanes!

We have a 8800GTS 512mb POV - It's been doing a pretty good job for the last year, adequate for my gaming needs, should be till the end of the year.

Why do you have to have a DX10 card for gaming? I do a lot of gaming, but my card isn't listed because it's DX9 - that doesn't mean I have 'none'.

The system link in profiles is surely meant to try and reduce endless 'what x have you got' type threads

If there were more ten choices for a poll I would have listed other cards anyway. Since all gaming cards in the last two years are DX10 capable it would make sense to list them. Also even el cheapo DX10 gaming card would be faster than even a top end DX9 card made a few years ago.

Having the occasional pole is good just to get an indication of what cards are popular in a glance.

The last option is for people still using DX9 cards for gaming. You should select this option.

Considering that the 8800GTS 640mb was faster than any of the previous high end DX9 cards then yes I am being serious. Both the HD4830 and 8800GT/9800GT can be had for 90 quid and are faster than the 8800GTS 640mb by a large margin in newer games.

The 9600GT can be had for around 75 quid and is faster than even an X1950XTX in modern games. So is the HD3850 512mb which is under 65 quid.

Hence el-cheapo modern DX10 gaming cards are much faster than top-end DX9 gaming cards which came out over two years ago in modern games.

Of course this is hardly a surprising fact either!!

No really, it's not.

Then consider other cheap DX10 cards -the 8400, 9400, 9500 series for example - all absolutely woeful compared to the high end dx9 cards like the X1950XTX, 7950 etc.. As are the 2350, 2400, 3450, 3470, 3650, 4350, etc etc. from AMD.

Their numbering schemes may lead you to think that their DX10 cards are all faster than previous generations cards, but it's just marketing speil.
