    A new graphics card...

    HEllo all.

    I need a new graphics card to compliment my new SP2309W monitor. im running winxpsp3, c2d e660, asus p5b wifi deluxe, 1gb kingston xtreme ram.

    im hoping to play some games smoothly at medium to high settings. currently counter strike source is the only thing that plays at highest quality and and smooth.

    Budget?
    I'd go for a Geforce Gtx260 or an ATi 4870.

    It depends on your budget. For 150 quid and under the ATI HD4850 or Nvidia 9800GTX+ are the best bets. For between £150 to £200 an HD4870 512mb or the 192 shader version of the GTX260 would be the choices. If you can get the HD4870 1gb or the 216 shader version of the GTX260 for 200 quid or under then this would be the best upgrade!!

    and may I humbly suggest spending alittle less on a video card (from whatver your budget is), and use a little of the cash on another gig of ram?
