Herc's Prophet AIW 9800SE - problem with "hiccups"

Hi!

I've just upgraded my graphics card to Hercules' AIW 9800 SE. Softmoded with some artifacts - still working on it (but that's something for a different string).

I played Homeworld 2 and X2 the Threat on my previous card (Creative's Ti 4200 64MB) with no problems. Once I installed the 9800SE (even before softmodding) I started to get "hiccup" effects in the movie scenes and some game moment - very short but visible flickering of the images.

Has anyone seen anything like that? What could be the cure?

MSI-648 Max
P4 @2.8Mhz
1GB RAM
Latest SiS AGP drivers installed
ATI softmod
nothing overclocked

using Dx9? , also maybe try different drivers?

Using DX9. Should I revert back to 8?

Alos what sort of divers would you suggest?

its a Dx9 card so stay with dx9... use any of the ATI Catalyst drivers.. anything from 3.9 to the current 4.3

am currently using 4.2's with my 9800aiw

I'm using 3.10 with a Radeon 9600 (vanilla) and I'm not having any problems in X2.
