    20-22" LCD Monitor needed

    20-22"
    Preference with a DVI input
    Budget upto £140

    Primary uses Games, Movie/Video, Internet

Just wondering what people are purchasing or recommending these days, i have noticed a fair few people buying the budget screens.

    Re: 20-22" LCD Monitor needed

Well hard to recommend any one make or model, esp in that budget and size.
Some people have gone for the new 16:9 1080p screens, but all told you are going to be fairly limited on that budget.
However for gaming I prefer the lower res 1680x1050 for the simple reason that it lowers the graphics demands but not the screen size.

My advice is go for a cheap one, may seem odd but I've heard some bad RMA stories from LG, Samsung and AG Neovo recently.
You're going to be stuck with a TN panel for that budget and while most "budget brand" monitors come with DVI inputs, most "Known brands" low cost models don't, to get the one with dvi costs an extra £20-30

Basically just need a bit of advice on which 22" to buy from Misco, because they take Paypal as a form of payment i believe. (or possibly Ebuyer)

Scan take paypal ? Omg win Still need some buying advice from either store, it would seem the Misco Saver is still the cheapest option, its also a Hanns G no idea if they are any good. They also have the Viewsonic for £126 with the new 1920x1200 full HD on 22", wondering if its worth getting that, but not dont know really, not really decided on what to get, need some advice first.

Really looking for something with a good warranty. Are lcd's still suffering badly with dead pixel issues? I currently have a Viewsonic thats worked flawless with no pixel issues, its just outside of its 3 year warranty now

Misco Saver is a HannsG, no idea what the panel will be like and have no DVI

You need to move up to the HannsG HI221D for dvi @ £127
    http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...299116&CatId=0

    Ebuyer you're looking at the LG W2242T-SF @ £131
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151862#
    or the Samsung SM2243BW @£140
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145472

Scan (who now do take paypal) AG Neovo H-W22 @ £132 (or keep an eye out on today only for cheaper)
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/22-Ne...kers-DVI-Cable
Hyundai BlueH @ £119 but currently out of stock
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/22-Hy...DVI-HDCP-10001
Mirai Chimei CMV223D @ £119 No idea about this at all, just very cheap.
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/22-Ch...-8001-330cd-m2

EDIT: On dead pixels, normally if any will die then it happens eairly/from the start.
I've never really come across them, however I don't get a lots of high res monitors.
On Warranty, the standard is 3 years onsite, aka they someone around to collect it and will ether do a swapout there and then normally with a repaired unit or take it away to be checked/repaired.
People used to trust Samsung and still do, but I've heard a couple of right horror stories recently, also from LG and AG neovo
I had to rma my old edge10, a cheap brand, had a brand new replacement within a week.
You'll have to do some digging.

This Iiyama is apparently 2ms and has a 3 Year NBD Onsite swap, no idea what that is yet
    http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...330714&CatId=0

And this is the Viewsonic with 1920x1200 resolution
    http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...345881&CatId=0

So much to choose from tbh.

    Re: 20-22" LCD Monitor needed

    NBD = Next Business Day
ie you report the fault for RMA if approved they send a courier with a replacement and you give them your faulty one.
Like I said 3year onsite swapout is standard for most monitors. (but not all)
    Viewsonic is also 3year onsite

here's the details for that monitor
    http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/UK/Pr...2/VA2213wm.htm
    warranty http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/UK/Support/warranty.htm
ViewSonic LCD display products - purchased after the 31st of March 2008 - are warranted for three (3) years parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour under "Premium Exchange Service" and twenty eight (28) days "Dead-on-Arrival Service".

    Premium Exchange Service:
Dispatch of a replacement unit best case within forty eight (48) hrs (weekend or bank holiday excluded) after initial call at the call desk/service centre. Dispatch of the replacement unit and collection of the defective unit will be free of charge.
So a swapout within working 2 days

EDIT: looks like that viewsonic is d-sub only

    Re: 20-22" LCD Monitor needed

Nice one Pob. Yeh D-Sub only, thats the next question DVI or VGA, but from what i've read on the net it does not make a big difference, however i have no clue, i'm still running VGA but i have a 4850 with DVI out. But that specific monitor is the latest one out afaik i.e. 22" and 1920x1200 resolution and not the standard 1680.
