    Cheap HD graphics card?....

I'm looking to get an xbox 360 HD drive (these can now be got for under £20), and install this in my PC (which I understand can be done!), to play HD-DVD movies.

With this I'm also going to need a graphics card with HD output to plug into my HD TV.

Anyone recommend a cheap card which will be able to handle this? Currently only got onboard graphics in a PC with a duel-core E2160 and 2gigs RAM.

    Thanks

ATI 4350/4550 would be fine, 4670 or something if you plan to game on it with some older games? depends on the budget really

    It's 4.98*

Would be a bonus if it could improve gameplay, but the only games I really play are Red Alert 3 and older stuff like Castle Wolfenstein and Unreal!

I'm looking to spend under £30 really, those cards in that ball park?

    Thanks

Under £30 you will probably be looking at the 3450 or similar, which can play some games just don't ask it to display much in the way of eye candy.

Passively cooled so totally silent too.

Passively cooled means no onboard fan or something?

Going to keep my eyes open for a cheap 3450 or 4350

Just found out about the free p&p offer for Hexus members too, with scan, so that puts scan at the top of the list - will be looking at their today only offers closely!

I don't think you'll get cheaper than this:

Polly69 posted it in the current bargains forum. Probably not passive at that price but should do what you want it to.

If you have a squiz at Scan's Today Only they have an HD 2600 Pro listed at 16.09 inc VAT. It's a bit odd in that when you look at the item the price shows as 30-something quid but when you add it to the basket it goes back down to 16.09. Comes with some stupid Tagan power cable for free, and free shipping if you are a forum gossip like most of us.

As said the HD2600pro can do all you need and is the cheapest option.
