    6600gt agp replacement cooler

    Hi Folks,

OK I know a really old card (older system on it's last legs but still has a function) the fan has gone belly up. Zalman used to sell a 700cu but i can't find one anywhere. so the only cooler i can find is the Arctic Cooling Accelero AC-S2

Now will this fit a 6600GT agp card? and secondly what's the biggest fan i can cable tie onto it? 92 or 120cm?

    Cheers.

    Re: 6600gt agp replacement cooler

I used to have a 6600GT and put a Zalman cooler on it - amazing difference. I've used Zalman coolers ever since

The Zalman VF900 will do the job nicely:

I had one on my 6800LE and then re-used it on my X1900GT.

    Re: 6600gt agp replacement cooler

hey guys thanks for the response, unfortunately zalman don't seem to fit the 6600gt AGP http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/...ad.asp?idx=145

looking at the NorthQ ones from Scan. They look like zalman 700 clones so should work

    Re: 6600gt agp replacement cooler

Doh!! I forgot that the 6600GT has a AGP bridge chip unlike the 6800LE as the former is a native PCI-E design:

    http://techreport.com/r.x/geforce-6600gtagp/chips.jpg

I have used a VF700 on a 6600GT AGP though so if the NorthQ design is similar it should fit OK!! I think that the VF900 will not have enough clearance(unlike the VF700) to accommodate the heatsink for the bridge chip.
