    Nvidia 8800gt, 9800gt, gts 240?

Can someone please explain this to me? Are these all the same card?

I read somewhere that the GTS 240 is essentially the same card that came out way back in 2007 when dinosaurs roamed. If this is true, then why on earth would NVIDIA be selling the same old card under a different name instead of making something new for us to play with? Seems like reviews of the GTS 240 will just be re-iterations of the same thing we read 1.5 years ago... Getting kind of tired of the rebadging

The GTS240 is essentially a 55nm version of the 8800GT with higher clocks, lower power consumption and a different bios:

I think is OK , is good to know the ranking of the 8800GT and 9800GTX+ with respact to 260 280 285 295 etc etc

They are not identical, but the general architecture hasn't changed a lick.

Why are they not innovating, you ask? Complacency, incompetence, arrogance, take your pick. I think also the fact that we are being sold X2 models of cards, and are encouraged to take up sli/crossfire solutions is kinda showing that substantial progress and advancement is going to be much harder to achieve. So, the most nvidia-friendly response would be that "refining" the same architecture through generations is the most economically viable way to go.
