    best videocard for £100 ?

    seeing my fx5800u has packed up , what would be the best bet for around £100 ?

    if its less than a year old, and u havnt done something silly, like put it in a tumbledried, it should be ok for a RMA id have thought

    it never seems to work that way for me for some reason , and the card has never even been overclocked as i have never needed to overclock the fx5800 ultra

    You could always get a 9600XT, or Pro version which is even cheaper.

    since i had loads of problems with ati based cards in the past i prefer to stick with nvidia based cards

    How far in the past did you have problems then chaoticone? and what card was it?

    If you want a Nvidia then the only choice really is a 5900 ultra or a 5950 ultra until the new cards come out that is..

    problems include new 9700 pro not working and bios problems etc etc , i think i will wait a while because my fx5800 ultra seems ok now and to rma it will take at least 4 weeks because the card was discontinued in december

    Yep waiting for the new cards to be released sound's to me to be the best idea

    Pity about the 9700 pro, if it had worked properly you would have been blown away how much better it is than a fx5800

    Roll on the new video cards i say..
