Thumbs up 4870 and an HDTV question.

Hi people, I'm still a bit new to hardware and have been doing my research for a new system I'm getting and have a question.

I am wanting to put a 512mb 4870 in my machine which is running a 780g mobo, amd phenom x4 9650 and 4 gbs of ram. I was wondering if this setup would be good enough to output at 1920x1080 resolution on a 32" HDTV when running higher specced games like Crysis for example. Would that slow it down considerably?

I've seen loads of benchmark tests on this card - thats why I want it - I just haven't seen anything about this.

Anyway, thanks in advance and I hope that made sense.

I'd reccomend a 4870 1GB for that resolution, will be better.

    It's 4.98*

Crysis may be hard as it's a stupid high spec game but for most other things it should be fine.

I've got my rig on a 32" 1080p tv and it plays COD4 at about 65fps and Bioshock on 70FPs
Crysis though only gets up to 25fps with everything on high at 720p

Yeah I was thinking of getting the 1gb version but I was also thinking that really it would probably only benefit me by 3 or 4 frames per second and it's a good £30 more expensive does that sound right or would the benefits be much higher?

Personally i think it depends how often your going to upgrade. If your planning to keep it for a while the 1GB will probaly come in more useful as games need more memeory but if your going to upgrade within a year i wouldn't worry to much.

What games apart from Crysis are you planning to play on it.
