I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
today I baught a 9500GT 1GB, it works fine through some rubbish monitor a had lying around but it came with a s-video cable that allows me to connect it to my tv through the yellow jack it boots up with an image like normal but when its ment to come up with the loading bar with the windows xp logo above it displays nothing just says no signal on my tv
Anyway to sort this?
Cheers
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
did you boot up with only the svideo cable attached?
if you did and it still doesn't work, there might be some configuration needed with a monitor attached
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
If it is a TV connected via SVideo they are notoriously picky on resolution. You'll have to have a trial and error session to find out what the correct res is. :(
Try googling the model number of the TV to see if anyone else has had any lucky?
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
Yes it showed picture of like the bios loading thing then when it came to booting windows it dissipeard
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
what resolution does the BIOS boot up in? :P
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
Its a HD tv how could I choose the RES if I can't even get that far?
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
I havve no idea what RES mate
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
(i had an nvidia card in a htpc before the psu blew up)
the svideo out would usually work with *just* the svideo cable plugged in to the tv, turn the tv on first and then the computer.
also try connecting a monitor and setting the resolution as low as you can then try just the svideo cable again.
if that doesn't work then try having both the monitor and svideo attached and configure it with the monitor.
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
Can you not use VGA to the HD TV?
SVideo doesn't support the native res of a HD set (1366x768 or 1920x1080). You would need VGA or HDMI to do that.

you're trying to run a HDTV from s-video?
how many other monitors do you have plugged into the card?
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
The tv don\'t have a VGA connection and I only have tried one or the other being plugged in not both at the same time
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
In the box, was there a DVI-VGA dongle/adapter?
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
No there wasn\'t I put the screen to 800x600 before I turned it off took the vga cable out put the svideo one it came with the boot screen again n like before its just about to log on it says no signal
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
that\'s because the OS tries to detect the resolution of the screen at boot up.
try plugging both in?
then try and set it up that way
Re: I baught a 9500GT but monitor problems :(
when I plug the monitor in with the s video still connected to the tv I did a wizard and both screens work the tv acting as a second I just want the tv working without the monitor
